Dr. Muhammed Abdalai
Project Lead – Migration and Crossborder Trade

 

Dr. Muhammed Abdulai is a Lecturer and researcher in Sociology of migration, mobility and behaviour change communication. He earned a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Philosophy and Study of Religions from the University of Ghana (2002), a Master of Arts (M.A-Research) degree in Cultural Studies from the University of South-Eastern Norway, “Bo i Telemark” in Norway (2007), and a Master of Arts (M.A-Research) in Culture, Communication and Globalization from Aalborg University, Denmark (2009). Muhammed holds a PhD in Sociology from Tallinn University, Estonia (2022). He has teaching and research expertise in migration, mobility & cross-border trade, gender and behaviour change communication. Muhammed is currently a Migration, Mobility and Social Change Communication lecturer at the University for Development Studies (UDS), Ghana. Since his PhD, Muhammed has served as a Social Development Advisor at the Institute for Public Policy Initiatives (IPPI), Ghana and a Lecturer in Social Change Communication at UDS, Ghana.

Dr. Muhammed has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in reputable Social Sciences and Humanities journals. Some of the relevant works he has done through consultancies are: the impact of land use patterns and change on farmers’ access to land for urban and peri-urban agriculture in Ghana-Funded by USAID-Agriculture Policy Support Project-Ghana; Migration and Security in  Estonia,  funded by the Estonian Immigration Police,   the impact of COVID-19 on Migrants, Refugees and Asylum Applicants (MRA) funded through the EDUFI Research fellowship grant, University of Jyvaskyla, Finland.

He speaks the following international languages: English, Norwegian and Danish.

George Narh Amoah
Research and Administrative Assistant

 

George Narh Amoah is a young, determined and energetic business development consultant on formalisation of informal businesses, building their capacities and competiveness in Ghana.

He holds a B.A in Industrial Art: Integrated Rural Art and Industry from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and been involved in facilitating Business Support Training to beneficiaries of Government’s COVID-19 Business Support Scheme.

He joins the Centre with a wealth of experience from the provision of business development services and implementation of the MasterCard Foundation Young Africa Works Programme in the Ga East Municipality of Ghana

Mr. Kansuk

Mr Kansuk holds MSc Energy studies with specialisation in Oil and Gas Economics from the Centre of Energy, Petroleum, Mineral Law and Policy from University of Dundee, United Kingdom and B.A Integrated Development Studies, University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana.

Mr Kansuk has gained extensive knowledge, qualifications, and experiences across a wide range of areas within the natural resources sector. He has strong and vast experience in oil and gas project start up and analysis, research and analytical methods, and financial services. Over the years he has been opened and opportune to lecturing on Project Management and Risk Management to various undergraduate levels at the Blue Crest University College, as consultant to multinational companies such as Anuera International in London, Gleeds in London and Pash Global in the area of natural resource extraction and usage.

His other experiences span through Business and Human Rights Law and Policy in oil, gas and mining, renewable energy technologies and financial services. His main strengths are in Economics of Exploration, Oil/Gas Field Development, Refinery Economics, Gas Monetization, Natural Resource Law and Governance and alternative sources of Energy.

James Acorlor
Trade Policy and Market Access Development

James Acorlor is a Ghanaian by birth and lives in Accra presently. James is freelance international trade law professional. James holds a Master Degree in Economics and International Trade Law, from University of Bern, Switzerland. James consults for Counsel of Churches for West Africa on socio economic and political issues at national, regional and global levels in the interest of the church, and citizenry.

James is as well a research fellow with Frontier Markets, a policy think tank in trade and eCommerce. James with the think tank investigates agribusiness investment opportunities in all agriculture regions in Ghana. James is presently and independently working on the ROO and Market Access for small business holders in the AfCFTA enclave.

James loves to socialize and have fun with team mates after work.
